Bowling Club Players off to Nationals
The Mens Over 60's Double Rink team have qualified for the semi finals of the competition to be played at Northampton IBC. The men won their semi final against Leicester and then played a good Desborough side in the final, unfortunately losing at the final hurdle! Nevertheless it was a good run in the competition, Well done!
Rebecca Field has qualified for the Ladies National Singles finals to be held at Melton Mowbray betwwen 2nd - 4th March. The club also wishes her all the best for this competition. Rebecca won her first game, but lost her quarter final clash.
Tim Palmer and David Naunton qualified to Melton Mowbray in the Over 60's pairs, but unfortunately lost their first game.
Matt Flatman, Garry Oakley, Jake Willgress and Wayne Willgress have qualified to Nottingham in the Mens Fours to be held between 1st - 3rd April. The club wishes them all the best for the competition. Also Matt, Jake and Wayne have also qualified in the triples, which follows on from the conclusuion of the fours. In the fours the boys lost first round to a good four from Wey Valley who were the previous years runners up. In the triples they beat three form bournemouth setting up a local clash against Acle in the last 16. They won this match comfortably before losing out at the last 8 of the competition.
The ladies Yetton Trophy team have won their way through to the semi finals of the competition, which wiill take place at Nottingham on Saturday 2nd April. They will take on Lincoln in the semis and should they win will either face Tye Green or Egham in the final. The club wishes them all the best. Unfortunately the women lost their semi final but still had a good run in the competition!
